Pikachu and its hundreds of companions were born in 1996 and have never left the playground. Their round shapes make them ideal amigurumi subjects, and licensed books and kits exist to reproduce them.

Official kits

A kit brings together yarn in the right colours, stuffing, accessories and a step-by-step pattern. It is the easiest option for a gift or a first character. Check the licence mention on the box and the stated level before ordering.

Pattern books

Licensed books gather several characters, with charts, yarn quantities and photos of each step. They suit you better if you already have a yarn stash and a 3 or 3.5 mm hook.
