The fir tree is the easiest Christmas motif to recognise, even at a very small size. Ours has a yellow star, three tiers of fir-green branches and a few red baubles, standing on a brown trunk.
The chart is 15 stitches by 17 rows. The red baubles are single stitches: embroider them afterwards if you would rather not multiply colour changes.
Make several for a garland, sew one onto a stocking or tuck one into a greetings card as a small hanging ornament. A small chain loop at the top lets you hang it straight on the tree.
